CASE STUDY 05 LARGE ONLINE UNIVERSITY
Two paths.
One performance standard.
A large online university runs BEM-hosted experiences and client-hosted linkouts together at enterprise scale. Different delivery paths. The same accountability to applications, starts, and client-defined performance.
TWO DELIVERY PATHS → ONE CONVERSION PICTURE → CONTINUOUS ACCOUNTABILITY
Meet the student
where the journey works.
The institution needed more than a single landing-page strategy. Some prospective students converted through experiences built and hosted by Banner Edge. Others moved directly into pages owned by the institution.
BEM operated both paths as one performance program—generating high-intent traffic, measuring accepted inquiries, and following client-reported outcomes through applications and starts.
The experience could change. The standard could not.
Not a pilot.
A full-scale acquisition program.
The reporting windows differ by delivery path, so each channel is shown independently. Together, they establish the breadth and depth of the operating relationship.
Accepted student inquiries generated through BEM-hosted experiences.
High-intent clicks delivered into the institution’s own experience.
Accepted inquiries reported from the client-hosted path.
Client-reported student starts across recently measured cohorts.
Analysis uses direct BEM-to-institution reporting with unique inquiries enabled. Hosted results cover September 2025 through August 2026; linkout results cover March through August 2026. Newer cohorts continue to mature. Client identity, pricing, raw conversion rates, exact targets, and campaign-level allocations are not disclosed.
Different front doors.
One accountable system.
The hybrid model gives the institution flexibility without fragmenting measurement. Each path serves a different experience while returning evidence to the same performance loop.
Built for matched intent.
BEM generates the traffic, operates the education experience, and submits a qualified inquiry only after the prospective student specifically requests contact from the institution.
Delivered into their journey.
BEM sends high-intent prospective students directly into the institution’s approved experience. The institution reports which visits become accepted inquiries and downstream outcomes.
Scale is not
self-declared.
Enterprise allocation is earned when accepted inquiries continue producing the downstream outcomes an institution values. Applications provide an early signal. Starts reveal the deeper result.
As cohorts mature and the evidence base grows, the conversion picture becomes clearer. That allows BEM and the institution to expand with greater confidence—not simply greater appetite.
The volume is visible. The reason it keeps flowing is performance.
Early signals now.
Deeper truth later.
Each delivery path maintains its own application-rate report card using an appropriately matured cohort window. Student starts remain the deeper outcome used to understand the full program.
Both paths feed
the same intelligence.
Client-reported outcomes return to BEM’s internal performance engine, where the conversion picture informs future delivery. The client sees accountable performance without buying software or replacing a platform.
The architecture is explainable. The optimization method remains proprietary.
